LRAC: Twenty Years of Progress

In 2016, the committee received a grant from the National Park Service to create a report covering the history and progress of twenty years as a national Wild and Scenic River. The report was finalized and published in September 2017. The goals of the report are many:

  • Recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of individuals and stakeholders who participated in the development of the Lamprey River Management Plan and the federal designation of the river.
  • Provide a history of the designation and subsequent accomplishments.
  • Remind stakeholders that implementation of the plan requires long-term diligence and cooperation.
  • Explain the potential benefits of participating in the Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
