How Can I Help or Join the Committee?

Meetings

The full committee meets monthly on the third Tuesday evening at the Lee Safety Complex, 20 George Bennett Road. All meetings are open to the public.

Work groups meet according to the availability of members. Check the calendar for locations and times. Work groups have been established to tackle the following issues: clean water and water flow, land protection, wildlife and ecology, history, outreach and education, project review, and recreation. Much of the committee's actual work takes place through the work groups.

Voting Members

Each of the following towns  is encouraged to nominate up to four representatives: Barrington, Brentwood, Candia, Deerfield, Durham, Epping, Exeter, Fremont, Lee, Newfields, Newmarket, Nottingham, Northwood, and Raymond. Representatives share their expertise and perspectives as riverside landowners, conservationists, recreationists, municipal employees, water and wildlife scientists, educators, historians, business people, and concerned citizens.

Once nominated by a town, the applicant's paperwork is sent to the NH Dept. of Environmental Services where the NH Rivers Management Advisory Committee will officially appoint the applicant to a three year term as a member of the local advisory committee.

What paperwork is needed for the town to nominate me?

The NH DES requires the Local Advisory Committee Nomination Form. Print the form, complete it, and take it to your town hall. Once the town officials have signed off, they will mail it to NH DES. If you have any questions, please e-mail Joe Foley, chair.

Non-voting Members

The committee has created an ambitious management plan and needs plenty of help with its many projects. Non-voting members are welcome to contribute their opinions, time, and energy. If you have the desire to be part of active protection and enjoyment of the Lamprey rivers, please let us know!
