Current Research
Water in the Lamprey is studied regularly to track common pollutants and indicators. The flow of the river is also documented. In addition to this on-going monitoring, more directed research also occurs. Among the topics currently being investigated are :
- How are changes in climate and land use likely to affect the river in the near and more distant future? How can we prepare for these changes?
- How does stormwater run-off affect nutrient levels in the river and ultimately Great Bay?
- What changes to the shape and flow of the river are likely in the near future? How can municipalities prepare for changes in the river's flow to help minimize loss of infrastructure, life, or property?
